DAY 3 - God’s Desire: All Saved (1 Tim 2:4). Read also 2 Cor 5:14-21.
DAY 4 - One God, One Mediator, One Ransom, One Aim (1 Tim 2:5-7). Read also Jn 14:6.
DAY 5 - Men: Lifting Holy Hands in Prayer (1 Tim 2:8). Read also 1 Pet 3:7.
DAY 6 - Women: Dressed in Modesty and Good Deeds (1 Tim 2:9-10). Read also 1 Pet 3:1-6.
DAY 7 - Male Spiritual Leadership: Based on Creation and the Fall (1 Tim 2:11-15). Read also 1 Cor 14:33-35.
Questions for Thought and Discussion
What is intercession? Give biblical examples of this type of prayer.
Why are we to pray for those in authority? What may happen if we do not?
What does God desire for all men? What kind of society is most conducive to that desire?
Can lost people be saved without learning the truth? Can they learn the truth without us?
Is there any other ransom or means available to save sinners, besides Jesus Christ?
If the world is lost, and if Jesus is the only solution, what is Paul’s purpose? What is our purpose? How well are we advancing the gospel where it is not known?
Can a man pray effectively with unclean hands?
What do man’s temper and quarrels have to do with prayer?
Is it sinful for women to wear expensive clothes and to have their hair dressed?
Should we “dress up” to show respect for God in worship, or should we “dress down” to avoid appearing showy and pretentious?
Why do some women dress immodestly? What are they trying to accomplish?
Name some good deeds that are “worn” by godly women whom you know.
Discuss quietness, submission, teaching, and having authority.
In what sense will women be “saved through childbearing?”
